Our method of breaking and training horses has been proven to produce happy, well-rounded horses willing to move energetically forward from the seat and leg, accepting the bit, and responding to light contact while maintaining their rhythm and balance to excel in any discipline.

Becky Maticic, Trainer, Diamonds Bluff Farm Horses come to Diamonds Bluff Farm to be trained for all disciplines, with a specialty in eventing and race horses. DBF also has a lot of experience in handling Off Track Thoroughbreds (OTTB) for re-training at a new discipline .

Becky Maticic, owner and trainer of DBF, has a unique talent for listening to the signals each horse sends to create a program that works for the individual. Horses thrive under our training program because we make an effort to understand each horse's personality and natural ability.

Training sessions are tailored to each horse's learning style, discipline, and the owner's goals. Horses gain the confidence they need to enjoy their work which reduces behavior problems. Horses learn to work quietly in the ring and on the trail. The horses in our care are exposed to a wide variety of terrain which helps build elastic muscles and creates a sound mind.

Horses in training at DBF enjoy a varied routine that keeps them mentally stimulated and they go home ready to accomplish their owners' goals.

Dressage basics to improve balance, straightness and flexibility
Cavaletti and gymnastic jumping for better balance
Stadium and cross country jumping for confidence and variety
Galloping alone and in company especially for race horses, eventers, and fox hunters
Trail riding with walk, trot, canter, and gallop through open fields, woods, and streams

Off the farm training

DBF firmly believes that horses need variety in their routine! If the owner is interested, we take our horses in training to local events such as PVDA dressage schooling shows, hunter schooling shows, combined events, hunter paces, pipe openers, and trail rides. Our goal is to send you back a horse that is ready and willing to perform for you with a sound mind and body.
