Race Horses

Breaking and training race horses is a secret passion of Becky's when she's not working with show horses. She learned at a very young age how to handle silly babies and the strongest of adolescents. Her track experience was gained primarily at Laurel Race Track, but has galloped horses at Charlestown as well.

Becky has ridden for many renowned trainers such as Hamilton Smith, Anthony Dutrow, the late James W. Murphy and William Komlo. Successful jockeys, such as Steve D. Hamilton, have also taught Becky the ins and outs of riding thoroughbreds.

Prospective race horses leave Diamonds Bluff Farm fit and ready to run from their weeks of legging up and galloping on the farm. The footing in the galloping field and its gentle slopes strengthen and tone the horse's muscles and develop a good mind for competitive racing.

DBF ensures your Thoroughbred is prepared for the racetrack atmosphere, also with emphasis on lead changes. When ready, race horses are taken weekly to the track for morning training sessions until they are genuinely ready to make the transition to track life.
