Eventing and Combined Training
Eventing is fun and exciting for riders who love a challenge! To be successful at eventing, both
the horse and rider must work hard at staying fit. The horse has to love what he's doing and be
controllable and safe for the rider.
A main focus at Diamonds Bluff Farm is eventing - otherwise known as combined training - which
tests the horse's endurance, flexibility, power, and truly demonstrates the horse's athleticism and
stamina.
It is made up of three phases; dressage, stadium jumping, and cross country.
At DBF, we know what it takes for our horses and riders to prepare for an event. DBF is set
up to introduce young horses into the sport with a 20x40m stone dust dressage ring, grass stadium
jumping ring and a cross country course from Elementary to Novice. There are also hundreds of acres
to ride for endurance.
Becky Maticic, trainer, with 25 years experience, loves the sport and passes her enthusiasm on to
her trainees. She is currently competing at recognized horse trials on her own OTTB's and her
clients' horses as well. DBF students are starting their horses in competition as
well with Becky's guidance.
